Having formulated the purpose of the study as studying the specifics of the system of images of the memorial landscape of the archaeological site Arkaim as a factor in its popularization, the authors of the article consistently move towards its implementation. The research, the results of which are presented in the article, has theoretical significance: it convincingly shows that the memorial landscape can be considered as a self-sufficient media text; the quality of the memorial landscape is highlighted as a media text with pronounced literary features; It is noted that one of the key factors in the literariness of a media text is the system of images. The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that, based on the analysis of in-depth interviews with actors of the memorial landscape, a system of images of the memorial landscape of the archaeological site Arkaim was formed as a factor in its popularization. The main research methods were in-depth interviews with actors in the memorial landscape of Arkaim, their analysis and scientific interpretation of the content; Clifford Geertz's saturated description method. The basis for the study was the elements of the memorial landscape of the archaeological site Arkaim as interpreted by 23 actors (staff and guests of the archaeological site).
The authors of the article consider the memorial landscape of the archaeological site Arkaim as a media-aesthetic phenomenon with pronounced elements of literature, which can be viewed through the system of images that has developed in its location.
Summing up the results of the work, the authors of the study identified the elements of the system of images of the memorial landscape of the archaeological site Arkaim and formulated ideas about the images of the past. The identified specificity of the memorial landscape of the archaeological site Arkaim creates objective difficulties in the process of its public presentation on traditional and new media platforms.
