Abstract

The widespread usage of clickbait has a great scientific interest. Experts have given numerous interpretations of the phenomenon, proposed classifications according to specific features, and also highlighted some trends that form the unprecedented success of clickbait in attracting an audience to the material. At the same time, there is still controversy regarding the permissibility of using clickbait. In many ways, the disagreement is due to a lack of research aimed at correlating the headline and content of the material, as well as the reaction of the audience to it. Work in these areas is seen as extremely important in the further study of technology, which continues to develop dynamically and is increasingly consolidated in the life of modern media.
