Abstract

The mechanism of copyright implementation in the media environment from the point of view of psychology is considered in this article. The identification of the peculiarities of the perception of the institute of copyright in the historical aspect and modernity allows us to determine the existence of contradictions between the interest of authors and the desire of the audience to gain knowledge. The experience of Switzerland is given as an example of special legislation in the field of copyright. A separate part of the work is devoted to the ethics of a journalist as an important criterion of professionalism. The author speaks about the influence of mass media on the legal culture of society, and also writes that the reader often becomes the author himself, broadcasting the information received in the modern world. Based on the studied material, it is concluded that journalists, authors and users should be guided not only by the current norms of the law, but also by the generally accepted rules of ethics and morality in order to find a balance between personal benefit and the public good.
