Abstract

The article presents the analysis of auditory, visual and textual modalities of Blood and Fire: This is How the New China was Made – a topic-specific animation film dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party. The article is concerned with the methods of public opinion formation due to animation, as well as the methods of political communication maintained between government agencies and the public. It has been established that such attributes of a polycode political text as intelligibility, vibrance, excitement and informativity contribute together to the positive perception thereof by the Chinese audience.

The research was funded by the 2019 Guangdong Province Higher Education Teaching Reform Project (Grant No. 21000-31911130)
