Abstract

The article raises the problem of turning the media into a leading factor in the socialization of the modern youth audience. Despite the ambiguity of assessments of the influence of media on the socialization of youth, he media environment has already become an integral part of human life and every year its role in personality development will increase due to the emergence of new, more and more young participants in communication. The purpose of the article is to study the communicative interaction of young people with the media and analyze real social practices voiced during in-depth interviews with experts related to youth activities or mass media. The result was the identification of parameters of media socialization that are fundamentally important for understanding modern realities: spontaneity, the presence of agents of influence, the prevalence of someone else's mediated experience, the creation of a special mythologized space, the transfer of the rules and norms of the media environment into the practice of real communication.
