Abstract

The article proposes an explanatory model of intergenerational transmission of communicative-cultural memory in the digital media environment. The model includes the interaction of three subjects of communication: "analogue", "digital" and the generation of "electronic frontier"; three ways of transferring experience: a combination of postfigurative, cofigurative and prefigurative generational interaction; three levels of transmission of communicative-cultural memory: digital media technologies, everyday media practices, social & cultural communication mechanisms. The effectiveness of the transmission of communicative-cultural memory is influenced by both the prevailing experience in the formative period of the media generation, and the current generational field (according to P. Bourdieu), which is based on filters of generational culture, includes behavioral patterns and reflects the demand for platforms which present information, creative and technological tools through which media texts are produced. "Reverse mentoring" involving the mutual exchange of competencies depending on a particular situation (digital literacy, cultural practices, communication tasks) and joint creativity in the process of "domestication" of digital technologies can reduce the severity of the digital intergenerational gap and ensure effective transmission of communicative and cultural memory in intergenerational communication, both in Russian megacities and in the provinces.

Acknowledgments: The research was carried out with the financial support of the Russian Science Foundation grant No. 19-18-00264 within the framework of the scientific project “Digitalization of communicative-cultural memory and the problems of its intergenerational translation”.
