Abstract

The article is devoted to the changes in the system of media communications in the Republic of Mordovia, due to the development of new technologies, the emergence and popularity of different types of new media, transformations in the existing system of traditional media. The diversity of the media market, including television journalism, and the full development of the district multimedia editorial office can be noted. The changes taking place also concern the radio market, which in the region is turning into a commercial enterprise that focuses on advertising, rather than on the production of creative, news content.

The popularity and effectiveness of such a media resource as urban publics revives the function of the media as the "fourth" power, establish a dialogue with the people, make all participants in the information process reckon with the posted information. Competition and openly expressed opinions, insights that have appeared since the creation of Telegram channels have made it possible to revive the information space, which for a long time was limited by one small opposition newspaper. New media stimulate the development of traditional media, which confirms the creation of its own TikTok channel by the political party "New People", which, according to our forecasts, will entail a faster entry of other media into the space of this messenger, which has not yet been practically mastered in Mordovia by anyone except individual youth bloggers.
