Representation of media insurances in regional media as a method for reflecting values: statement of the problem

Abstract

The subject of attention is the media discourse, due to the fact that the media are a significant agent in the formation and broadcast of social fears and phobias that determine the social and psychological portrait of residents; the theoretical aspects of the axiological approach to the analysis of media texts are considered, a genetically-typological connection is established between the specifics of anxiety-phobic discourse, interpretive models for analyzing phobias and the representation of values in the regional press; a set of value-semantic attitudes is determined for creating an information image of fears and phobias in the regional media content. A comprehensive analysis of the regional media discourse allows us to talk about the clearly perceived value of socio-cultural identity: the regional media, broadcasting anxiety-phobic discourse, simultaneously actualize the meanings of involvement in the single task of maintaining social stability, the possibility of regeneration after crisis situations, tolerance and transparency of power structures and society.
