D. Surguchev – a journalist in the history of the white press in the south of Russia

The article studies the journalistic biography of I. D. Surguchev in the white press of the South of Russia. Special attention is paid to I. D. Surguchev’s publications and bibliographic advertising. Surguchev’s editorial activities were associated with the Rostov daily socio-political and literary newspaper “Zhizn” and the daily literary and public newspaper “Yaltinskiy Golos”. The central place among I. D. Surguchev’s works dated by that period takes a series of essays “Bolsheviks in Stavropol” (1919) denouncing the Soviet government, its leaders and regional representatives. Surguchev defined the scale of what was happening in Russia as a universal struggle between the good and the evil, and therefore he referred to biblical stories, images, and quotations.
