Conceptualization of anti-vaccination in the discourse of high-quality socio-political media: verification of values

Abstract

The article analyzes the process of conceptualization of such a socially significant and relevant movement as anti-vaccination at the value-semantic level. Today it is considered as a socio-political campaign with its subjects and objects of management, and the anti-vaccination discourse itself in the public space becomes a means of promoting certain political, social ideas. The author turned to the publications posted on the "Kommersant" website, which is a high-quality socio-political media, offers the audience an objective, analytical, balanced public view of acute and controversial problems. The research material was a corpus of texts on the topic of anti-vaccination, collected by a continuous sampling method from publications for 2021, the object was the concept of "anti-vaccination", the subject was cognitive strategies of its discursive implementation. The main conclusions are as follows: 1) in the process of representing the concept under consideration, two strategies manifested themselves simultaneously: a personal-subjective irrational strategy and a social-objective irrational strategy, which conceptualize the antinorm; 2) social expectations and hopes for the correction of the antinorm are conceptualized on the basis of the values of "responsibility", "freedom", "will", "good", which, guaranteeing in an ideal situation socio-political order, become within the framework of the discourse under consideration the most important value-verifying basis of the real social structure.
