The article analyzes the specifics of information conflicts on social networks. The subject of such conflicts is user generated content as a result of information and communication confrontation between participants in social networks and a source of information conflicts. The author considers the reasons for his conflict. To resolve information conflicts, social media users often prefer litigation, which on the one hand indicates an increase in legal literacy, and on the other, allows to identify key signs of potentially conflicted user content. Analysis of court decisions, however, allows us to conclude that many users are unfamiliar with the rules for using a particular social network, as a result not only illegally use someone else's content, but allow violations of their own rights, and are not even always able to determine the guilty person of these violations. Therefore, in order to prevent and effectively regulate information conflicts in new media, it is necessary to develop a culture of creating and consuming user content, develop a communicative culture of communication, and educate legal literacy among all participants in information and communication interaction on social networks.
