Abstract

A common genre of user content in the field of the book industry is reader feedback, which is considered by us as a way of self-expression of the individual in the media space. The material for the analysis was 220 reader reviews of books of the last year of different genres and trends, collected by random sampling on the online reader platform of the book store LitErs. The genre-forming properties of the reader's review are revealed: the secondary nature of the text, dialogic non-institutionality, subjectivity, evaluativeness, and stylistic heterogeneity. The article considers the compositional structure of the review, which performs the following tasks of communicative intention: expressing one's opinion about the read work, argumentation of the opinion, recommendation or anti-recommendation to other readers. The types of argumentation based on the reader's expectations of the author, genre, work, and ideas about a good book are analyzed. For example, an interesting plot, psychological reliability of the characters, good language. The main semantic opposition for the work remains "interesting – uninteresting". Examples of artistic and pictorial means that readers turn to in search of expressing their emotions and impressions of what they read are given. According to reviews of literary works, you can form a generalized portrait of the reader of a particular genre, direction, author
