Abstract

The article explores practical aspects to implementing the EUFactcheck, an international education project under the auspices of the European Journalism Training Association (EJTA) in the Institute of Philology and Journalism of the Lobachevsky State University. Special attention is paid to the specifics of organizing extracurricular activities for students under the «Journalism» academic program within the system of forming professional skills of information verification in mass media and social media. The article also analyzes methodology of organizing work process for students, for the distance-learning mode as well, and also peculiarities of interaction with foreign project partners. The article concludes with recommendations for organizing educational projects as part of extracurricular activity and in the process of training students under the «Journalism» academic program. The piece also outlines development prospects as part of interaction with students and education specialists that work for other institutes and departments of Lobachevsky University and primarily focuses on the use of information technology, artificial intelligence as part of data verification in mass / social media.
