Chronology jf scientific and organizational projects of the journalism profile of the 1920-1930S as a history of the unfinished association of newspaper scientists

Abstract

For the first time in domestic science, the article examines a series of scientific and organizational projects of the 1920s-1930s, which should have been, in accordance with the intentions of their initiators (K. P. Novitsky, Ya. M. Shafir, M. S. Gus, Yu. M. Bocharov, S. D. Muraveisky), to unite representatives of the very first in Russia scientific and educational school of journalism (newspaper science), who worked in various Soviet educational, media and public institutions. These are such organizational projects as the Scientific Council at the State Institute of Journalism, the Association of Newspaper Culture, the Scientific Cabinet at the Central Bureau of the Press Workers Section at the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions, the Scientific Research Institute of Newspaper Studies, the Society of Marxist Newspapers, etc. As the author shows based on the study of archival sources and publications of periodicals of the 1920-1930s of the XX century, the initiatives described by him had a different fate: some of them were only voiced, others began to be embodied, but did not leave traces of their activities, but those that were implemented were also found (Research Cabinet GIZ, Scientific office at the Central Bank of the PSA), and the research teams created in the process of implementation sometimes existed for quite a long time (up to five years).
