Non-professional military and political online journalism on the Yandex.Dzen: content, audience, legal aspects of using UGS

The article analyzes the development of unprofessional military-political online journalism on the Yandex.Zen site using the example of two channels with an audience of over 150 thousand people – «GromoV» and «Calendula and Shadoof». The content created by young bloggers is of high quality, meets all the requirements of traditional analytical journalism and the demands of the new technological environment. Articles are maximally «equipped» with various types of visualization, rating publications are able to compete in many respects with the texts of traditional military-political journalism. The most common analytical genres of channels are article and review. The core of the target audience of these channels is people over 55+ (mostly men). Bloggers use different strategies to increase their own audience.
An analysis of consumer military-political content from a legal point of view showed that the most common violations are copying and appropriation of bloggers' content without links to channels by various media platforms and even the media. The Yandex.Zen platform itself is trying to level the gaps in the legislation, however, the problem of copyright protection for bloggers and the imperfection of the algorithm for detecting illegal content are still topical.
