Representation of the phenomenon of transhumanism in the media

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of covering the topic of transhumanism in the media. The topic of transhumanism is controversial from the point of view of science, but for a long period of time it has been the subject of discussions in the public sphere and is supported, among other things, by the media. The assessment of the phenomenon of transhumanism in media publications is considered, it is revealed that most of the materials give a negative assessment of the phenomenon. Despite the breakthrough achievements of recent years in the field of creating artificial intelligence technologies, even its capabilities in creating a superman are assessed mostly negatively. The topics of materials related to the topic of transhumanism are as follows: religion, development of technologies, including artificial intelligence, art, cinema, literature, science, history, politics. At the same time, they write not so much about transhumanism itself, as about the events associated with it and causing current news. Assessments of the phenomenon of transhumanism are more often heard from experts in the field of politics, law, religion and other spheres than from the journalists themselves. In media texts, no scientific justification was found for the impossibility of achieving the goals of transhumanists, some materials report significant achievements in this area. The latest news about the threat of transhumanism to traditional values in Russia provide prospects for further coverage of this topic in the media and its negative assessments. And new achievements in the field of technological development provide the foundation for further theses about entering the era of transhumanism.References
