Abstract

Due to the ever-increasing information aggression against Russia's interests, it is necessary to regularly rethink and research this topic. The aim of the paper is to analyze and describe the TV newscasts of French television, containing news reports on Russian issues. It is also important to characterize the degree of compliance of French television programs with the declared principles of objectivity and impartiality. To solve the set goal the following tasks were formulated: to analyze the formation and development of French television broadcasting, to identify the level of trust and popularity among the audience, to characterize approaches to the study of media in the system of political communication; to consider the coverage of political topics on various French television channels. The history of French television shows key trends primarily in the organization of relations between the state and private enterprises for access to the management of public opinion. Television remains relevant for the residents of France, regardless of age or social group. It can be concluded that the French media construct an image of Russia as a state that suddenly unleashed a destructive war in Ukraine. At the same time, Russia's position regarding the possible security threat, the spread of nationalism and Nazism in Ukraine is actually not taken into account, as well as the role of the United States as an actor that supported the anti-Russian course of Ukraine and is currently supplying weapons to ensure that this conflict continues. The study analyzed the political positions of TV channels in France and highlighted the directions of representation of Russian topics on French television after the military conflict of 2022. A high degree of political pluralism of French television was established. The coverage of the subject of the Russian Federation on French television is generally negative, which is due to the dominance of the subject of the special military operation in Ukraine as a humanitarian crisis.
