The study is devoted to identifying the role of the speech strategy of objection in the comments of users of popular science mass media. Media-linguistic analysis allowed us to identify logical-semantic types of objection that are functionally aimed at mastering scientific knowledge. Doubt, distrust, refutation / exposure, reproach not only involve the addressee in effective communication, but also help to master scientific knowledge. The functional features of the identified logical-semantic types of objection are determined by their communicative tasks: clarification, explanation, overcoming uncertainty and barriers in the process of understanding, awareness. The choice of a particular speech tactic, a specific speech act is determined by the object (subject) of the objection. This may be a denotate, a source, a way of presenting knowledge, a system of argumentation. Various logical-semantic types of objections in comments from users of popular science mass media are determined by the educational function of such publications and are a necessary condition for effective communication, dialogue between the author and the addressee, which ensures the acquisition of new scientific knowledge.
Acknowledgments: The study was carried out with the financial support of the Russian Science Foundation, project № 22-18-00184 “Speech practices of objection and ways to overcome them in popular science media communication”.
