The study is devoted to the main directions of work of the international information television channel RT en Español for foreign Spanish-speaking audiences. In particular, the following were analyzed: features of news broadcasting, editorial policy, administrative and personnel components, and the most popular programs. The research is based on in-depth interviews with the editorial staff, including the deputy director of the Spanish broadcasting directorate, Alexander Luchaninov. The article is the first to analyze comprehensive approaches to creating content in Spanish for foreign audiences, organizing broadcasting and problems of updating content for Spanish-speaking audiences. The organizational structure of Spanish-language broadcasting, employee selection criteria are described, the influence of political, sociocultural and media factors on the work and formation of the channel’s content, and popularity among the Spanish-speaking audience are analyzed. A list and characteristics of the main most popular programs is given. The main competitors of RT en Español have been identified: the pan-American news channel CNN en Español, DW Español, Telesur, CGTN. The study allows us to identify the features of adaptation and presentation of content to different cultural contexts for the Spanish-speaking audience of Latin America, reveal the influence of the TV channel on the international viewing audience, and determine popular topics among the RT en Español audience - political and social. An important role in creating television content for Spanish-speaking audiences is played by linguistic and intercultural features, which is also reflected in this work.
