Abstract

The article is devoted to the search for connections between the use of TV and video content as a content component of media education and attitudes towards conscious media perception, which will ensure a comfortable stay in the media environment. The dynamics of change in the media environment force consumers of media information to accept transformations and innovations, so there is a need to update the content of media education. In this regard, the current need for fact-checking technology can have a positive impact on media perception.

The fact-checking technology helps to ensure a sufficient level of media literacy of the modern user. In order to acquire the skills and abilities to apply fact-checking technology in the process of media education, it is possible to use existing television and video content as its content component in order to form attitudes towards conscious media perception. Viewing and analyzing such content can promote understanding of the emergence and origin of various audiovisual content, awareness of the message of the author who created this work, and, as a consequence, the development of automatic application of fact-checking. In addition, the use of fact-checking technologies makes it possible to avoid manipulating the user’s consciousness and promotes productive, fruitful and effective use of media resources, ensuring a comfortable and practical existence of the user in the modern media space.

The article pays much attention to the empirical base, which includes not only television content, but also online content, which seems important due to the fact that modern television viewing is inextricably linked with the network realities and features of online media consumption. Analyzing TV and video content, the authors of the article draw attention to the existence of specific content that can be used to achieve the results of media education.
